Recipe for this month: Maple Apple Topping!

Maple Apple Topping Photo, All Rights Reserved 2013

This recipes ingredients are really simple. 1/4 cup of butter, 1/3 cup of chopped nuts (we're using walnuts), 1 Granny Smith apple, 3/4 cup of pure Maple syrup and 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.

Your cooking tools are a large skillet, woodspoon, measuring cup, apple peeler and a sharp knife (for cutting the apple)

Begin by peeling and removing the core of the apple. We cut ours into little wedges, but you can do chuncks or what ever you want. Key is to not make them too small.

In the skillet, melt the butter on medium heat. Keep an eye on it so it does not boil.

Once the butter is melted, add the apples...

Then add the cinnamon...

And then add the Maple syrup. We like to use pure maple syrup because of the flavor, and the fact that it is not artifical.

Cook and stir over medium-low heat until apples are tender.

Once the apples are tender, add the nuts and stir them in. Allow to simmer just a few more minutes.
